Feng Shui Ming Gua Compatibility

Two people never meet only as bodies, characters or personalities. They meet first as fields of Qi. Before the first word is spoken, their energetic frequencies have already begun a conversation. Ming Gua does not predict the future and does not limit human freedom — it reveals how two energy fields meet, cooperate, clash, complete one another and evolve.

Compatibility here is not astrology. It is an energetic mapping between two people: where your energies synchronise naturally, and where they ask for conscious effort.

Compatibility is not a verdict; it is a tuning. Every relationship blossoms once it finds its right energy.

The two groups

In the Eight Mansions (Ba Zhai) school, Ming Gua numbers 1, 3, 4 and 9 form the East Group, while 2, 5, 6, 7 and 8 form the West Group. People of the same group tune into each other more easily.

But the group is only the beginning. The real depth comes from Wu Xing, the five elements: Water feeds Wood, Wood feeds Fire, Fire feeds Earth, Earth feeds Metal, Metal feeds Water — and each element also controls another. When two people meet, it is these movements of Qi that meet.

How to read your own chart

  1. Find your Ming Gua number with the Ming Gua calculator.
  2. Find the other person's number the same way.
  3. Read the cell where your row meets their column in the chart above.
  4. A challenging cell is not a warning to walk away — it names the element cycle that needs a bridge, in the space you share and in the way you speak to each other.

The complete written interpretations for every pair are published in Greek. Browse the full compatibility section — the on-page translation button in the header helps with the detailed texts.
